Advices for your watch

Every Day

When you set the time

1. Make sure that your watch is perfectly dry.
2. Move the crown carefully to make the various changes that are possible.
3. Avoid changing the date between 8:00 pm - 4:00 am
4. Once the changes are made, push the crown back in and (depending on the model) screw it down against the case to preserve its water-resistance.

When you wind a mechanical watch

When an automatic mechanical watch is not worn for a certain amount of time, its power reserve (42-48 hours depending on the model) is exhausted and the watch stops. To restart it, unscrew the crown if necessary (depending on the model) and wind the movement manually by turning the crown 30-40 times. This will give it a sufficientpower reserve to function normally.

A non-automatic mechanical watch has to wound every day, winding is complete when you feel the crown resist. It's important not to force the crown of a hand-wound to avoid damaging the mechanism.

When you are not wearing your watch

1.Watches are affected by magnetic fields. Avoid leaving them near any equipment that can creat a strong magnetic field such as speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, etc. They can affect the performance of the watch.

2. If you do not regularly wear your automatic watch, then it is advisible to purchase an automatic watch winder to ensure that the lubricating oil in the movement remains fluid.

3. Do not leave a flat battery in a quartz watch. Regularly check that a quartz watch is runnning. If it has stopped or the EOL system is activated (certain models are equipped with an End Of Life system to inform you about the condition of the battery, the second hand will then advance 4 seconds at a time), please contact your authorised TAG Heuer service center

When you clean your watch

To maintain the aesthetic appeal of your watch and keep it in good working order, you should clean it regularly as follows:

- First make sure the crown is fully screwed down.
- If our watch has been tested in our service center within 12 months, then you can use a soft brush with slightly soapy water to clean the case and bracelet, then rinse it with clear water and dry it with a soft cloth. If your watch is fitted with a strap made from fabric, leather, alligator or python skin, take care  not to get it wet.
- If you have any doubts about the water-resistance of your watch, simply clean it with a soft brush then dry it.
- Avoid contact with chemical products (solvents, detergants, cosmetics and etc.). They may damage the bracelet and the water-resistance gaskets.

Straps in fabric, leather and alligator or python skin
Avoid all contacts with water (baths, showers and etc.). However, despite your care and attention, leather is a natural, living material and its colour will fade a little over time.
