G-SHOCK – 40 YEARS OF TOUGHNESS

G-Shock – a shock-resistant revolution in the watchmaking industry.

Structure. Functions. Materials. Design. – Casio’s slogan for 2023. Last year, the brand celebrated the 40th anniversary of its iconic G-Shock. The watch that revolutionized the watchmaking world, with its desire for supreme toughness.

The brand organized numerous events worldwide dedicated to the anniversary, including in cities such as New York, Berlin, London, Shanghai, and Bali. As the official representative of Casio, Giulian Watches and Jewellery celebrated this memorable moment in the brand’s history in Bulgaria too.

To make the special year even more special, G-Shock presented a new collection dedicated to the 40th anniversary, consisting of some of the most unique models that the brand offers. Among these watches are the 2100 series, which inherits the concept of the first generation DW-5000C models, the MRG-B2000SG-1A watch, whose design incorporates the outlook of a samurai commander, exuding the power to stay true to one’s self, and the MRG-B2000GA watch, which is a collaboration with Sadanobu Gassan, one of the premiere swordsmiths in Japan.

In true G-Shock style, Giulian took part in some of the most energetic, creative, and interesting events of the year in our country, including Egasi Festa, the photography exhibition "Born Free" and "Sofia Urban Zone Sport, Folk Festival and Extreme Fest".

One of the most anticipated events for music enthusiasts in Bulgaria took place in August in Burgas. Egasi Festa brought together old-school and new-wave hip-hop fans and specially selected G-Shock 40th anniversary watches were positioned to add to the incredibly electrifying atmosphere.

Skateboarding is woven into G-Shock’s identity. The brand is heavily focused on supporting the skateboarding community. The series of photographs by Konstantin Valkov, entitled 'Born Free', was a great lesson in social photography. The exhibited photographs are exceptional encounters with practitioners of this sport from different generations. A guest of honor during the evening was Bulgaria’s Prime Minister acedemition Nikolay Denkov. The event took place at Kvadrat 500 in Sofia and the G-Shock watches were the finishing touch to this homage to skateboarding. 

Can we talk about G-Shock without mentioning sports? Disciplines such as break, street fitness, and basketball 3x3 were among many others presented during the 'Sofia Urban Zone Sport, Folk Festival, and Extreme Fest'. A special G-Shock tent was an attraction for young and old, and many sports enthusiasts left with a new G-Shock watch.

Both Casio and Giulian enjoyed a successful, filled with many emotions year that brought smiles to happy G-Shock watch owners.
