6/18/2020

Zenit upgraded its legendary chronograph movement El Primero, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The new Caliber El Primero 3600 is offered in the new Chronomaster 2 model.

Zenith, who is not content with keeping its connection with its roots but always looking to the future, has redeveloped the most precise automatic chronograph movement. A new, futuristic version that follows the footsteps of its predecessor in terms of architecture.

The optimized new caliber, called the El Primero 3600, incorporates basic features such as a 1/10 second chronograph function and lateral clutch, an integrated architecture including a ball-bearing mounted rotor. The featıres that distinguish the new version from the original movement are modularity, optimized industrial production, assembly, and regulation. The new movement attracts attention with features like a stop-seconds device, a 60-hour power reserve and a developable platform that allows adding different functions and indicators.

Zenith has chosen the Chronomaster2 model, which complies with the brand’s design codes, to bring its newest movement to the watch enthusiasts. Equipped with the El Primero 3600, the new model offers a contemporary look with its 42mm diameter lightweight titanium case, black or blue ceramic bezel, and skeleton dial with a star-shaped oscillating rotor. The case is equipped with a transparent case back and is water-resistant to 100 meters. The front sapphire crystal is anti-glare treated on both sides.

The skeleton dial hosts three sub-dials as in different colors as anthracite for 60 minutes at 6 o’clock, blue for 60 seconds at 3 o’clock, and light gray for the small seconds at 9 o’clock. Rhodium-plated faceted hands and markers come with Super-LumiNova SLN C1.

The models are limited to 250 pieces each, complete with a blue crocodile strap with protective rubber lining and steel buckle.
